Although the introduction of the Clean Air Zone in Manchester, which was proposed to try and reduce the high levels of pollutants in the city, has been temporarily postponed, we made the decision back in 2019 to upgrade our van fleet ahead of this implementation as it was due to be enforced in the summer of 2021.
Therefore, in September 2019 we released a new fleet of vans, including the Mercedes Vito and Citroen Berlingo to counteract the daily penalties which we would have incurred once the Clean Air Zone came into force. These new vehicles have the latest E6 engines and use AdBlue to reduce emissions, but we also monitor the amount of fuel each van uses.
