Murraywood Construction were appointed Principal Contractor on our Furness Quay project, this project involved two impressive residential towers, comprising a total of 270 apartments and townhouses. This distinctive collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes are located in the heart of Salford Quays with views overlooking the water and Old Trafford.
Our team provided comprehensive surface water drainage systems, including an 80m³ attenuation tank, land drains, swales, and 400m of ACO channels. Additionally, we performed remedial work on existing drainage and water mains, and conducted extensive site investigations with vacuum excavation of existing and unknown services.
As the project progressed, we installed 2000m of external ducting and cabling, complete with street lighting, CCTV infrastructure, and columns. We also supplied and installed 3 Turvec cycle shelters. Further installations included 146m of stainless steel and glass balustrade, 400m² of self-binding gravel, 2000m² of tarmac, and 20m of gabion baskets.
Our services included full soft and hard landscaping packages and street furniture installations, such as concrete/timber benches and static bollards. Our hard landscaping package featured over 800m of kerbs and edgings, 2000m² of Acheson & Glover plaza block paving, and two sets of granite staircases.We also constructed RC concrete retaining walls with brickwork and timber cladding, along with a new brickwork boundary wall on Trafford Road.
