I have been working with Murraywood Construction since February 2012 as a Formwork joiner and really enjoyed my work. I was approached in April 2016, offering me the vocational position of Trainee / Assistant Site Manager on a new project.
I started the role the following month, with a view to starting my HNC in September, taking with me the knowledge I was gaining on the job. Murraywood look to promote within the Company where possible and to be recognised as one of those they considered for such positions was a boost to myself.
My HNC was split into modules and I had assistance and mentoring from colleagues for each module, so I had the best of the classroom experience and the hands-on experience that these mentors could give me, also working with other students in the same position as me for other companies/construction jobs meant I was also to see the issues that some of our subcontractors or site colleagues are faced with.
Being given the support, encouragement and practical experience from Murraywood has only enhanced my progression to my current role as Site Manager
